Book Review

Over the last few days I have been reading the book titled Eldest. This book is the second book in the trilogy that started with Eragon. Eragon was also just released last year as a movie (which was really good).

The series is about dragons, elves humans and dwarfs. There is an evil king and they attempt to overthrow him. Its hard to write anything about the 2nd book without giving away the ending of the 1st. Needless to say, if it wasn't good I wouldn't have waded through over 600 pages of it (the first book was just as long). It is a really good series along the lines of Lord of the Rings or the Dragon Song book series by Anne McCaffery that came out at least 10 or 15 years ago.

Of course the other good thing about the book is that I took Hilda's advice (and my husband who agreed with her) and read a for fun book!

I am glad you took my advice! I have been reading 'Zane Grey' westerns and having too much fun! But I did just pick up a new 'educating mom' book to read... 'Honey for a Child's Heart'... Lynn has had it for some time and alway told me it was great.

I have seen Eragon on the shelves, but wasn't sure. I may pick up a copy since I know someone says its a good read. Is it comparable to Lord of the Rings? Right now I am reading Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte, because it has been a while since I read a classic just for me. I'm also reading "Shopping For Time" during my devotional time in the morning. Its sooooooo good!
